Jadon Sancho's dream move to Manchester United is quickly becoming a nightmare with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer toying over whether or not to shunt the winger into a wing-back role to accommodate his new 3-4-1-2 system.
Following a string of sorry results, Solskjaer has tweaked his tactics in recent games in a desperate bid to save his job.
Whilst that switch has seemingly paid off, for now, it's tough to see how £73million summer signing Sancho fits into that shape.
But a new report has shed some insight into Solskjaer's plans – and it may not leave Sancho best pleased.
According to The Athletic, Solskjaer and his staff have been testing Sancho out as a right wing-back in training to try and fit him into United's new formation.
With concerns mounting over Aaron Wan-Bissaka, both generally and as an attacking outlet, it seems as though Solskjaer is attempting to solve two issues at once by dropping Sancho further back.
The report goes on to state that United could utilise Sancho in the role to unlock teams who are expected to sit deep against Solskjaer's side.
It's the latest alarming development for the 21-year-old; who is still yet to register a single goal or assist in the 13 appearances he's made since he arrived at Old Trafford for big bucks in the summer.
He's already been dropped from the England squad by Gareth Southgate following his slow start to life in the Premier League, although the report also reveals that Sancho has had numerous fitness issues that have impacted his barren start to life in Manchester.

United, and Solskjaer specifically, chased the attacker for over two years. The fact they're now attempting to accommodate Sancho elsewhere is a concern – even if it's not necessarily a permanent move and he possesses the defensive diligence to perform such a role.
Solskjaer can ill-afford to waste another multi-million-pound star with Donny van de Beek already rotting on the United bench.
The situation regarding van de Beek is bleak enough, but if Sancho's lack of football develops into a similar scenario, then it would be beyond embarrassing for Solskjaer and disastrous for Sancho's career.
Solskjaer's stance on van de Beek has already started to cause him headaches in recent days with both fans and players alike beginning to question the Norwegian's handling of the midfielder.

United fans gave the loudest cheer of the afternoon when the Dutchman was introduced as a late substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
And recent reports have emerged outlining that van de Beek's United team-mates are as baffled as anyone as to why Solskjaer seems reluctant to select him at all.
The last thing that Solskjaer needs right now is another repeat of van de Beek's sorry situation; which may explain his desperation to find a role in his new-look team for Sancho.
