Jadon Sancho transfer desire emerges after Man Utd set damning asking price
Man Utd players' feelings towards Jadon Sancho after latest Erik ten Hag spat
Jadon Sancho was open to an 11th-hour Manchester United exit this summer before interest from Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq collapsed, according to reports. The walls surrounding Sancho’s United career have started to cave in after Sunday’s public row with manager Erik ten Hag.
Al Ettifaq have reportedly been unsuccessful with a late swoop to lure the 23-year-old winger to the Saudi Pro League revolution.
Gerrard looked to pounce on Sancho’s disintegrating relationship with Ten Hag, sparked by the Dutchman excluding him from United’s travelling squad for the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.
After full-time at the Emirates Stadium, Ten Hag denied that Sancho was injured, instead admitting that his training performances hadn’t been at the level he demands of his players.
Shortly after, the United No 25 published an explosive statement on social media, questioning his boss’ reasoning and claiming he had been made a ‘scapegoat’ at Old Trafford.
It opened the door for a potential late departure before tonight’s Saudi Arabian summer transfer deadline, but a season-long loan won’t happen.
According to the Mail, Sancho had expressed an interest in ditching his United career to join the likes of Jordan Henderson and Demarai Gray at Al Ettifaq.

United were allegedly in contact with the Saudi outfit through intermediaries and were prepared to let him leave before settling his row with Ten Hag.
However, the deal fell through when the Red Devils demanded an obligation to buy Sancho for £50million at the end of his loan spell.
Al Ettifaq couldn’t afford the fee, and the proposed move has since been described as ‘dead’, leaving Sancho set to stay in M16.
United’s willingness to offload the England international is a damning indicator of his status in Ten Hag’s plans alone.
But the club’s readiness to accept a loss worth a third of the £73m they splashed to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 paints an even bleaker picture.

Reports earlier in the summer suggested United had valued Sancho at £45m but weren’t actively looking to sell him.
Ten Hag was keen to add to his attack rather than weaken it, prompting Rasmus Hojlund’s £72m arrival from Atalanta.
But with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho locked on the left and Antony seemingly untouchable on the right, Sancho is yet to start a game this season.
Ten Hag will want more from the forward, who has registered just 12 goals and six assists in 82 games since leaving Borussia Dortmund.
