Chelsea remain in talks to sign Archaf Hakimi from Inter Milan and the Blues are open to the idea of including a player in the deal as a sweetener. It’s understood that the European champions included Emerson Palmieri in their first proposal to the Serie A winners after matching Paris Saint-Germain’s offer for the Moroccan.
Thomas Tuchel has a clear idea of who he wants to bring in this summer as he targets Premier League success.
Hakimi and his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland are the club’s top two targets.
Given Inter Milan’s financial troubles, owners Suning are open to offloading a number of key players including Hakimi.
Chelsea tabled an opening bid of around £43million plus the Italian left-back.

However, Italian journalist Daniele Longo has now claimed Inter have responded by requesting Marcos Alonso in the deal.
It’s said that new boss Simone Inzaghi prefers Alonso to Palmieri and believes the Spaniard would fit into his plans better.
Both players were previously considered by Inter during Antonio Conte’s tenure.
The former Blues boss has now departed the San Siro despite guiding the club to the Scudetto due to restrictions of their financial complications.

Alonso has two years remaining on his deal but could move on before the beginning of next season.
His days in west London looked to be numbered under Frank Lampard after he was banished from the first-team set-up last season.
It’s alleged that Alonso went and sat on the team bus after being subbed off at half-time in the 3-3 draw at West Brom.
But he was brought back in from the cold under Tuchel and kept things competitive with Ben Chilwell at left wing-back.
Hakimi would be the perfect fit for Chelsea given that he is used to playing at wing-back, a role he has played for Dortmund and Inter.
While the Blues do have one of the finest young full-backs in world football in Reece James, the Chelsea academy graduate has also played at right centre-back under Tuchel.
Reports in Italy claim Chelsea have already raised their bid as they look to beat PSG to a deal.
Despite their desire to sell, Inter are cautious of accepting below the odds though particularly given Hakimi’s stock is high on the back of last season.
