Sportsmail previously revealed how the Hornets would be ready to offer an initial 12-month deal to Young if they secured promotion back to the Premier League.

Following Watford’s proposal, Young told Sky Sports it would be difficult to turn down a return to his boyhood club.

Young joined Watford as a 10-year-old and made 110 senior appearances before joining Aston Villa for £9.65million in 2007.

Beckham has been eager to implement his vision at the club and has worked closely with the board to bring into the right people to help the franchise thrive.

Inter Miami are looking to push on, having signed Englishman Phil Neville as their manager

Phil Neville was appointed as the boss of the American outfit back in January and secured his first victory against Philadelphia Union on April 25.

Having also added former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi and former Stoke player Ryan Shawcross to their ranks, Beckham and Co are on the prowl again.

Young has become the first Englishman ever to win both the Premier League and Serie A after helping Conte’s side claim the club’s first scudetto since 2010.

Additionally, Young four goals and provided eight assists since joining Inter from Manchester United in 2020.

However, having scored 22 goals in 110 outings for the Hornets between 2003-2007, Young is open to retiring at his former club.

However, Inter Miami will have to fend off interest from Xisco Munoz and Watford for Young

Young, who previously played at Watford, has spoken about returning to the club to retire

Speaking on Watford’s Golden Tales Podcast, Young said: ‘If I could go back and play there [at Watford] again, I would walk from Italy right now.

‘Because it’s what I know, it’s where I come from and it’s what allowed me to be who I am and get where I am.

‘For me, at my age now, and you can ask my family, you can ask my agent, if I had the opportunity to go back and finish my career at Watford, I would jump at the chance.’

Before adding: ‘I know what started my career. It was Watford. I always say and I will always say it’s my home.’
