How’s the groin, Erling? Injured Man City star Haaland performs iconic Poznan dance from the stands as he celebrates while watching his side dismantle Liverpool

  • City beat rivals Liverpool 4-1 at home in the Premier League on Saturday
  • Haaland missed the game through injury but was in a box to support his team
  • City adopted the Poznan dance in 2010 and Haaland joined in at the weekend

Erling Haaland was seen performing the iconic Poznan dance during Manchester City’s win over Liverpool on Saturday.

Haaland missed the game through injury after Norway noticed a groin issue with the forward as the international break began.

He watched his side from the stands at the Etihad Stadium in a game where they temporarily closed to gap to league leaders Arsenal to five points.

City dismantled Liverpool 4-1 with the gulf between the sides clear to see, and Haaland clearly enjoyed the show on Saturday.

Shared by Copa 90 on TikTok, the 22-year-old jumped with his back to the pitch as he showed how ecstatic he was with the result.

The forward performed the iconic dance, which sees a back-to-play jumping motion, in a City box

He was ecstatic and celebrated every time City scored in their 4-1 win in the Premier League

The Poznan is a traditional dance that invovles facing away from the field of play, linking arms with supporters and jumping on the spot.

City first started the dance in 2010 during their Europa League campaign, and it has regularly been seen in the stands of the Etihad ever since.

Haaland only joined the club in the summer, but he has clearly adopted the methods of his supporters.

The striker was ruled out of the fixture having not recovered from a groin problem

It’s unclear who the forward can be seen dancing with, but he turns back around to clap his team before the video is over.

Haaland has scored 42 goals across all competitions this season, breaking records with his ability to find the net.

On Friday, City boss Pep Guardiola told reporters that after speaking to Haaland, he ‘feels good’, but the matter of selection would be postponed until the last moment.

Guardiola spoke to BT Sport ahead of the game. On the subject of Erling Haaland, he said: ‘He is not fit. He doesn’t feel proper. It is not a big issue but today he was not right.’
