‘I won title with Leicester & went on date with Miss California but it was w***’
Danny Simpson has revealed that he went on a date with Miss California after winning the Premier League with Leicester City.
The former Foxes full-back secured a date with the beauty queen during the club's pre-season trip to the USA in 2016 but admitted "it was w***". Simpson was a key part of Claudio Ranieri's squad as Leicester went from strugglers to champions in the 2015/16 season to win their first-ever top flight league title.
The summer after their title triumph, Leicester headed to the USA during pre-season, facing Paris Saint-Germain in California, and Simpson even snuck off for a date with Miss California during the trip.

Recalling the evening, he told the Undr The Cosh podcast: "I was sneaking out. I had a date with Miss California.
"I got asked on this date through someone and I’m in Santa Monica with the team and I’m thinking: ‘I can’t say no to this. I’m gonna go and this needs to happen.’ All the time I was there, picked this specific day, thought right I’m sneaking out.
"Somehow, I’ve snuck out the hotel, all my gear on, got picked up, all the way to LA to this restaurant, this steak restaurant. Meet Miss California, right, sat having dinner with her and I swear to God it was going w***. It was s***. She must’ve been like: ‘Who’s this lad from Salford? I can’t understand what he’s saying.’ It was tough."

Simpson went on to add how Cristiano Ronaldo had been in the restaurant that same night and even came over to speak to him during his date. The pair played alongside each other six times for Manchester United during the 2007/08 season.
"It was painful right," continued Simpson. "But anyway it weren't going great and I got a little tap on my shoulder. I've looked up and it's only (Cristiano) Ronaldo. He's gone 'Simmo' and I've gone 'Ronny!'
"I've got up and given him a little hug and that. Anyway we had a little chat because we're obviously in pre-season and he's won the Euros (with Portugal) so he's on an extended break.
"I've sat back down and she's gone 'how do you know Ronaldo?' I've played it down and said 'I used to play with him' like it was nothing. From that second she completely changed."
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's appearance as a surprise wingman for Simpson came during a stellar 12 months for the full-back, who had made 30 league appearances during Leicester's title-winning campaign.
Simpson also revealed details of the squad's iconic title celebrations at Jamie Vardy's house and even compared that Foxes side to a pub team as he admitted they beat Chelsea whilst still being hungover from a night out.
