‘I s*** myself seeing Fergie after snubbing Man Utd – he gave me death stare’

Chelsea icon John Obi Mikel has revealed he "s*** himself" the first time the Blues played Manchester United.

Obi Mikel had snubbed the Red Devils when he controversially moved to Chelsea, despite agreeing a deal with United. The Nigerian had been playing in Norway when he agreed to join United – and it was expected he'd arrive at Old Trafford in 2006.

However, the Blues ended up signing Mikel, who claimed he was pressured into signing a United contract without his agent present. United complained to FIFA, and a resolution was found in June 2006.

But that didn't stop Sir Alex Ferguson from leaving Mikel terrified when Chelsea first played United. Speaking to the Debrief Podcast, Mikel said: "I saw him one time!

'I can't remember what happened, I think I tripped up on the stairs, he looked at me and he just walked out. He started chewing his gum and just walked out. He didn't say a word."
