Hull City brilliantly mock Super League after earning promotion to Championship
Hull City hilariously mocked the botched European Super League on social media after their promotion back to the Championship.
After just one year in League One, the Tigers ensured they will be in the second tier next season after a 2-1 win at Lincoln on Saturday.
Judging by the videos on social media, the festivities were well underway among the players and staff, and they even got a little cheeky on Twitter.
In a swipe at the failed Super League and the Premier League sides who decided to leave after just one day, Hull made a joke in a similar vein about their promotion.
They tweeted: “Hull City can confirm that it has formally begun the procedures to withdraw from Sky Bet League One and join 23 clubs in a new competition, the Sky Bet Championship.”
Hull boss Grant McCann spoke of his pride at the character of his players to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
"My staff and the players have been outstanding, it's been a real team effort," he said.

"The players have taken hit upon hit and criticism upon criticism when they have lost games – and they've responded.
"It's been a tough season, particularly without having any fans in the ground and it's a shame they weren't there today to witness that.
"Hopefully sometime soon we can get together and have a proper party.
