How 5 Premier League pundits fared with their predictions for last season
The 21/22 Premier League season is underway.
And that means it's that time of year for pundits to put their reputation on the line and predict what's going to happen over the course of the season.
Every season springs a surprise, but some scenarios are easier to predict than others.
Last seasons predictions were filled with tips of Manchester City or Liverpool to win the title, as they will be this year, and the usual suspects to dominate the top four spots.
So Daily Star Sport is looking at five pundits' predictions for last season and how they fared 12 months on.
Gary Neville
Gary Neville kept his cards close to his chest when it came to outlandish predictions last season.
The former Manchester United tipped Liverpool for the title, but he also predicted that Pep Guardiola's side would drive Jurgen Klopp's men close.
Interestingly, Neville predicted Chelsea would shine over the course of 12 months.
On the whole, Neville didn't miss the mark with his predictions and the only blot in his copybook behind the eventual Premier League winner.

Robbie Savage
Robbie Savage, on the other hand, wasn't as successful as Neville when it came to predicting the season in his column with The Mirror.
The Welshman, like Neville, had Liverpool chalked in as champions, but a large part of his prediction was centred around the leadership of Virgil Van Dijk.
Savage had eventual champions Manchester City down in fourth: "the 18-point gap to champions Liverpool last season looks a bridge too far," he wrote.
In Leeds United's first season back in the big time, they finished in the top half – Savage had the White's at 15th but also said: "they could finish anywhere between the top six and the bottom three."

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher also predicted a close title race for the season.
"There's no doubt that Liverpool have the edge, but I certainly don't think there will be that much between the teams next season," he told Sky Sports before the start of the season.
"When City are at their best, they're almost unstoppable," he continued.
Until the turn of the year, it looked like Carragher may have predicted the outcome, however, a torrid run of form for Liverpool saw City run off with the title.
Chris Waddle
Chris Waddle was the only pundit in the BBC's pool to select Manchester United as the Premier League title winners.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star opted for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the top spot, with City second and Liverpool and Chelsea rounding out the Champions League spots.
United finished second, 12 points adrift of City.
Waddle did successfully predict all of the Champions League spots, and he was bang on with Liverpool in third and Chelsea in fourth.
Ian Wright
Ian Wright went with his heart when he selected Arsenal to finish in the Champions League spots.
Mikel Arteta's side had a tough season, and the Gunners finished in eighth with 61 points and outside of the European spots.
It was the first time in 25 years that Arsenal hadn't managed to gain European football for the following season.
Wright also selected Liverpool for the title, but he did correctly predict that Chelsea would finish third.
