Henry “happy” with Arsenal protests as legend discusses problems at the Emirates
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has offered his support to the ongoing protests against Stan Kroenke & co.
The protests were sparked by the announcement of the European Super League last week, and concerns over the running of the club.
“I’m happy with the protests, I couldn’t go, but I was happy about them. It’s the fans’ club, if fans want things to happen it’s on you, and they’re not happy about what’s happening and rightly so," Henry told talkSPORT.
“Arsenal fans have said they are not happy, and I’m with them."
Thousands of Arsenal fans gathered outside the Emirates on Friday night – before their 1-0 defeat to Everton – to protest their American Ownership, and chants such as 'we want our Arsenal back' could be heard.
Henry earned his legend status at Arsenal as an indispensable member of the Invincibles, and netting enough to propel him to the top of their all-time goalscorer charts.
However, Arsenal's fortunes have certainly waned since Henry's departure, with the club failing to win the Premier League since.
“I’m a winner, if we win the Europa League, we’re in the Champions League, but Arsenal are underperforming right now," Henry continued.
Arsenal have failed to make the Champions League since they finished second in the 15/16 campaign, and they have spent the last three years in the Europa League.
“If we win the Europa League, you can’t say that’s nothing – it’s something as we’ll be back in the Champions League, which is where we want to be.
“It’s just not how any of us would like to arrive there.
“It would be great, I’d be over the moon if we can win the Europa League, but some stuff is not right at the club right now.”
