Harry Redknapp tells Aston Villa’s Grealish to sign for ‘bigger club’ Arsenal
Arsenal need to sign Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish during the January transfer window.
That is the view of both Harry Redknapp and Piers Morgan, with the former Tottenham boss stating that the midfielder is ready to play for a ‘bigger club’.
Grealish, 25, has had a fine start to the new Premier League season by scoring five goals and setting up another nine across only 15 outings.
That form has helped Villa into eighth place in the table and two points above the Gunners who have played two more fixtures.
"I think they have to spend," Redknapp said to Piers Morgan on the Harry Redknapp Show.
"They are way off it, at the moment. They need to bring a bit of quality.
“Arsenal is a massive football club – Take a Grealish.
"He needs to play at the bigger club.”
Morgan agreed, having previously tweeted: "Arsenal should break the bank for Jack Grealish in January.
“If we don't get some creative flair into the team, we're going nowhere – and he's the most creative player in the country.
"Offer Villa £100m for him or £50m + [Mesut] Ozil, [Shkodran] Mustafi & [Granit] Xhaka. I'm deadly serious."
Arteta said of his transfer plans in December when his side were coming back from a poor run of form: “The last few results will not change our approach to the window.
“This period has been so important. We had a tough week, it wasn't so much about performances but about results yet you need results to start the confidence.
“Now with two wins, everybody is in a better mood. We've managed to get through this period while maintaining our team spirit and cohesion.”
