Harry Kane’s first Bayern hat-trick ‘doesn’t count’ due to Bundesliga rule
Harry Kane bagged his first Bundesliga hat-trick on Saturday afternoon – when his treble helped to down VfL Bochum – but due to bizarre rules in Germany, it won't count.
The Englishman had broken the deadlock in the 12th minute, and he went onto net twice in the second half. Bayern Munich, thanks to Kane, had swept aside the minnows 7-0 in a dominant display.
However, Kane will not go down as netting a hat-trick in the Bundesliga history books. In Germany, for a hat-trick to count, the player must score all three goals consecutively in one half.

Manchester City's superstar Erling Haaland found out about this rule in 2020, when team-mate Jadon Sancho denied him a hat-trick. Haaland netted three in 23 minutes after making his Borussia Dortmund off the bench against Augsburg.
However, between Haaland's first and second, Sancho had notched – meaning the big Norwegian's hat-trick didn't count.

Kane appears to be settling into life in Bavaria – and speaking to TNT Sports he had nothing but praise for his team-mates: "Jamal has been fantastic. There's been a lot of talk about how good he is and how young he is.
“He's been great to watch in training and in tight areas how he moves and how he plays forwards. He's been fantastic to play with so far.”
He added: “Thomas Muller, how intelligent he is. People from the outside sometimes don't appreciate these types of players who are just one step ahead in the brain compared to the rest of the team.
“Overall I think we've got fantastic players all around the pitch and that’s the exciting thing being at a club like this.”
