Harry Kane told he’s ‘finally joining proper club’ with Tottenham transfer exit
Former United States defender Alexi Lalas has claimed that Harry Kane will be playing for “a proper club” ahead of his proposed transfer to Bayern Munich. The England and Tottenham striker is set to complete a move to the Bundesliga after a £100million bid was accepted by the Premier League team.
The move would see Kane’s time in the Premier League come to an end having spent his entire career in north London where he was a product of the club’s youth system. It would also end a summer of constant speculation surrounding his future at Spurs with just one year left on his current deal.
While Tottenham fans are disappointed with the news, many have questioned the move to Germany over the chance to see out his contract and seal a lucrative move a a free agent next summer. But Lalas, who now works as analyst for FOX Sports, took to Twitter to praise the England captain for the move.
“Love it. Will be great to see Harry Kane finally play for a proper club worthy of his talent.”
Unsurprisingly, Lalas’ comments have cause much frustration on the social media platform. “Dear God, you’re a troll.” one user replied, with another adding: “You could opine without being disrespectful about who or what is a “proper” club.”
Not everyone disagreed with Lalas’ tweet, with one fan responding: “I have to agree. Levy wasted kane with 3 bad managerial appointments . Let’s hope he fares better with Munich. He deserves it. Premier league legend. Bayern are lucky to have him and cheap at £120 million with add ons.”
Kane’s move comes as he goes in search of adding silverware to his illustrious achievements both at club and international level. The striker has 213 goals in 320 games in the Premier League, a record that is only bettered by Alan Shearer’s 260 goals. He is also Tottenham’s record goalscorer with 280 goals and England men’s all-time record goalscorer with 56 goals in 83 games.

The only achievement that has eluded Kane is a trophy, which he will hope to end with Bayern Munich, having lost in three major finals with Tottenham as well as the European Championship final with England in 2021. Bayern have won the Bundesliga title for 11 consecutive seasons and 32 times in total, 27-times more than any other top-flight German team.
Kane could make his debut this Saturday when Thomas Tuchel’s team face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup as he goes in search of his first trophy for his new team.
