Harry Kane relentlessly booed by furious Spurs fans who let their feelings known

Harry Kane was ripped apart by his own supporters as his Tottenham career hit a new low.

After failing to force his way out of Spurs in the summer, the England striker suffered another dismal day in north London.

An under-pressure Manchester United side thumped Tottenham 3-0, and the hosts did not even have a shot on target in 90 minutes.

It leaves them eighth in the Premier League table, and Kane still only has one goal and one assist in the division this season.

Having bagged 23 goals and 14 assists last term in the Premier League, it shows how significant the drop off in his performances has been under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

The ex-Wolves boss is already under massive scrutiny himself, as fans jeered at some of the manager’s decisions during the United defeat, such as bringing off Lucas Moura.

But Kane in particular came in for criticism from those who used to cheer his name religiously.

Gary Neville, who acknowledged how important the win was for Ole Gunnar Splskjaer, noticed the abuse the 28-year-old was getting inside the ground while on commentary for Sky Sports.

During the second half, Neville said: "These Tottenham fans are really letting Harry Kane know what they think every time he gets the ball and gives it away."

Even ex-Tottenham midfielder and football pundit Jamie O’Hara turned on the goalscorer, sarcastically asking on Twitter: “Is Kane playing?”

He ruthlessly added: “Kane has been dreadful the fans have turned on him and it’s warranted #spurs #disgrace”.

O’Hara continued: “Disgraceful performance huge questions need to be asked, what are these signings? Worse than what we’ve already had, tactics shambles! Kane embarrassing.”

Before the November international break, Spurs must bounce back against Everton next Sunday at Goodison Park.

They also host Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
