Harry Kane prepared to sign new Tottenham deal in huge boost for Daniel Levy
Harry Kane is reportedly prepared to sign a new contract at Tottenham – if a move to Bayern Munich collapses this summer.
Spurs have rejected two offers from the German champions thus far and are hoping to land £100m to part ways with their all-time record goalscorer.
It is thought that Thomas Tuchel’s side will launch a third bid worth £85m and the England captain was believed to be keen on a transfer to the Bundesliga side.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Kane has now made it clear that he if is still a Spurs player by August 13, he is ready to sign a new deal at the club.
They claim that Kane feels it would be unfair on new head coach Ange Postecoglou to leave after Spurs’ opening Premier League game of the season.
The news is a huge boost to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who is desperate to keep hold of the 30-year-old amid intense transfer speculation this summer.
Kane has less than a year left on his current deal and Bayern remain confident of landing his signature.
But they must significantly increase their offer for Kane and also include a buy-back clause for Spurs to consider a sale.
Kane was linked to Manchester United earlier in the window but the Red Devils were not willing to meet Tottenham’s £100m asking price.
Levy then came close to reaching an agreement with Paris-Saint Germain to sell Kane to the French champions – but the Englishman snubbed the Ligue 1 side.
