England captain Harry Kane is reportedly 'increasingly likely' to stay at Tottenham this season despite Spurs agreeing a fee to sell him to Bayern Munich.
It's understood the Bundesliga champions have reached an agreement to pay £86million up front for Kane, with add-ons potentially taking the deal to £100m. That's left the 30-year-old with one of the biggest decisions of his career, and Sky Sports News sources have said it appears as though his preference is to remain in north London.
Kane has entered the final 12 months of his contract and could leave Tottenham on a free transfer next summer if he still refuses the club's offer of an extension. Reports suggested the striker had been offered £400,000 a week to move to the Allianz Arena, but it seems even those riches may not be enough to convince England's all-time top goalscorer.
It's also been reported Kane may yet earn those kinds of sums if he agrees to extend his stay with Spurs, where new manager Ange Postecoglou will be desperate to keep hold of the club talisman. The former Celtic boss has been a breath of fresh air for fans after promoting a fast, attacking style of play in pre-season, which is said to have impressed his frontman.

Kane recently underlined his importance to the squad with a four-goal haul during Spurs' penultimate pre-season fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk. He also scored Tottenham's first against Singaporean side Lion City Sailors in the match prior to that, where Brazilian forward Richarlison bagged a hat-trick.
The club recently announced the signing of Argentinian striker Aleje Veliz from Rosario Central in a deal worth around £13m. However, the 19-year-old is considered to be a long-term project and by no means an immediate replacement for Kane if he were to leave.

Spurs supporters will be overjoyed if Kane does reject Bayern's advances this summer, keeping hopes alive that their most treasured asset may yet pen fresh terms at the club he joined almost 20 years ago.
The Daily Mail reported in July that Tottenham owner Joe Lewis has instructed chairman Daniel Levy to sell Kane this summer in the event he refuses a contract extension. That being said, all signs suggest the ball is in the player's court as to whether he leaves for Bavaria during this transfer window.

Thursday's news is a particularly well-timed boost for Spurs supporters on the eve of their Premier League season-opener. Postecoglou will make his English debut away to Brentford on Sunday, where it will be a boon knowing Kane is that much further from a potential exit.
The three-time Premier League Golden Boot-winner has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs but has yet to get his hands on any major silverware. Kane's haul includes 213 finishes in England's top flight, requiring just 48 more to leapfrog Alan Shearer (260) as the Premier League's all-time top scorer.
