Hardline Tottenham boss Antonio Conte bans stars from using ketchup and mayo
Antonio Conte is in the process of revamping Tottenham's dietary and fitness regime and as part of that, the Italian has put a ban on ketchup and mayonnaise from the club canteen.
The former Chelsea boss has told chefs not to cook with fatty agents such as butter or oil, while sandwiches have been removed from the menu, in a move to cut some flab off the Spurs players.
The Athletic report that Conte feels his side is overweight and has consequently set about implementing a strict nutritional plan for his players, with carbs making way for fruit.
The 52-year-old came to north London following the team's tepid start to the season that saw the Nuno Espirito Santo give the chop after just 17 games in charge.
And their new boss has felt that part of their issues concerning their form is to do with the side’s current fitness level. The same report states that the former Inter Milan boss has been asking the players to participate in extra conditioning sessions, while he ordered them to train last Friday, just a day after their win over in the Europa Conference League victory over Vitesse Arnhem last Thursday.
The standard practice is for players to have a light recovery session following a European encounter.
As well as the rigorous exercise, players have been subjected to reviewing video review sessions, with a meeting that occurred after the Vitesse game running for 40 minutes longer than it was supposed to.
