Haaland’s dad always cooks him same pre-match grub as one of six daily meals

The key to Erling Haaland's imperious form for Manchester City could be down to his dad's cooking, with Alfie Haaland preparing him the same goalscoring grub ahead of every match.

The Norwegian powerhouse, 22, has rattled in a mind-boggling 19 goals in all competitions since his summer switch to the Etihad Stadium, hitting the back of the net every 48 minutes on average. At his current rate, Haaland will finish the campaign having registered 66 top-flight goals – one-quarter of the way to breaking Alan Shearer's record of 260.

Netting three consecutive Premier League hat-tricks, the ex-Borussia Dortmund frontman has added further spice to Man City's already-fiery front three.

Meanwhile, dad Alfie has been busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen with Haaland crediting his old man's lasagna for his insane goalscoring run.

"I've had it before every home game now and that turns out fairly well, so there has to be something special he adds to it," Haaland told reporters after bagging his third hat-trick in as many games. "I help out very little. I mostly lie on the couch watching him. That's the way it works."

In order to maintain his peak physical condition, Haaland is known to scoff six meals a day after taking inspiration from Manchester United sensation Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 6ft4in hotshot wolfs down swordfish, sea bass and sea bream all cooked with veg, whilst also eating plates of chicken and pasta cooked without salt or oil. Norway team-mate Josh King once stated Haaland "eats like a bear," before also adding "he’s just a freak. I’ve never ever seen anyone eat as much as he does."
