Manchester City fans reacted with joy seeing the look on Josko Gvardiol and Matheus Nunes’ faces when Kevin De Bruyne approached them in training.
Social media users rained praise on De Bruyne for the effect he supposedly worked over them, claiming the Belgian had them ‘starstruck’.
De Bruyne is back in the Manchester City squad for the Club World Cup after a four-month lay-off, having been injured on the opening day of the season against Burnley.
A video shows the midfielder walking over to Gvardiol, Nunes, Mateo Kovacic, and Phil Foden as they all look at him, before he hugs the first. Fans went in to a frenzy.
‘People use the word aura so loosely but he legit has them starstruck, a proper footballing all timer,’ one wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

‘Look at how they’re looking at him man this is the real captain of the team,’ another wrote.
‘Tears man the way they look at him is insane man. Living legend. Top 10 all time,’ one wrote.
‘The look of adoration is crazy. The king amongst kings,’ came the opinion of another.
While not literally the king among kings, De Bruyne is certainly a symbolic royal when it comes to footballers.
At Manchester City, he has topped the Premier League’s assist charts in four of the previous eight seasons and won Premier Legaue Player of the Year in 2021/22.
Alongside a Champions League, he has won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and five League Cups.
Little wonder Gvardiol and Nunes were glad to have him back.
De Bruyne is at the Club World Cup and hoping to build fitness despite the fact his 70-acre mansion in his homeland was burgled on Saturday.
