Groundhoppers rate 50 clubs for pies and pints – and Wrexham are top for beers
Two football mad pals have set out on a tour of the UK’s football grounds to find the best pies and pints being served to at the stadiums.
Best pals Adam Harrison, 26, and Luke Turk, 31, so far have visited fifty different grounds across the UK and the pair have put together a league table of the best pies and pints they’ve tasted.
A a non-league clubs Hungerford and Wrexham sit at the top of the tables, towering above Premier League opposition.

Adam said: “Our main points for a pie consist of the filling, pastry, selection on offer, temperature of the pie, how good the food stall and fan area is.
“For a pint again, its similar. Price, range of beers on offer, the pour of the pint, the standard of the club house, how the pints tastes, are the lines clean, is it kept well, warm or cold, tap or can.
“We try to be honest with our reviews. If the pie or pint isn’t up to scratch the club need to know. Even if it is our teams. We find home end is usually a better standard than away.

“We both absolutely love live football and had the idea while driving back from a Yeovil game. We thought we’d set it up as something to do during lockdown and it scaled up once we could get back into grounds again.
“We’d always get a pie and a pint in at the grounds we went to before starting it, so we thought why not share our opinions through the page we have created.
“We’ve found lower league to be better for the most part and they tend to have a much better range of pies and pints on offer as the food offering makes up a larger amount of their earnings.
“So we tend to find they have a better offering, for example more local produce and independent breweries. However, having said that, the offering at Spurs is probably the best so far in the new stadium.”
Groundhopping has become a great hobby for many football lovers and Adam and Luke, both from Western Super Mare, have been loving every minute of visiting a range of football grounds, and testing the variety of pies and pints on offer on match day.
Luke said: “Spurs and Hungerford Town probably the best. Spurs is definitely the best stadium in the world. The facilities are second to none and the atmosphere incredible. There are also some great pubs around the ground.
