Grealish’s words come back to bite him as Almiron’s stats trump Man City star’s
Jack Grealish's comments about Newcastle United's Miguel Almiron might come back to bite him as the Paraguayan international continues to impress.
Almiron has netted five goals so far this season – including two that could contend for goal of the season – compared to Grealish's one. And Almiron has played almost three times the amount of minutes in the Premier League than Manchester City's £100million man.
The Paraguayan netted four goals in four games in October – which is as many as Grealish has managed in City blue since his move in 2021. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: "I don’t think Miggy’s motivated by anything other than being his best for Newcastle and for the supporters who absolutely love him."

The question was alluding to a comment from Grealish during City's title-winning parade in May.
Grealish, speaking on Instagram, said in May: "Riyad, take him off the pitch, as soon as possible. He played like Almiron." Before he added: "The main person I want to thank is Bernardo Silva for coming off in the 70th minute as we was miles off it yesterday."
City had snatched the title from the jaws of heartbreak with an incredible turn-around against Aston Villa on the final day of the season.

Alongside Almiron, Newcastle are flying high this season – the Magpies have soared up the table and currently find themselves in sixth place – ahead of the likes of Liverpool.
Newcastle even held City to a draw at St James' Park – Almiron found the net during the clash that Grealish missed with a minor knock.
