An Argentinian goalkeeper is out to secure the world record for the longest strike in football history after beating his opposite number from inside his own six-yard box.
Cobresal were 2-0 up against Chilean Primera Division rivals Colo-Colo when stopper Leandro Requena dropped the ball for a goal-kick and proceeded it give it an almighty punt upfield.

Not content with just managing the first goal of his career and sending his side fifth in the table, Requena, 35, wants official confirmation of the potential record.
Requena told Radio Bio Bio: "I asked Juan Silva, the club’s manager, if the request for the record application was really going to be made and he told me 'obviously yes'.
"So now we are waiting for what is needed to verify what the distance really was. (Silva) did tell me that the ANFP (Chilean Football Federation) called him to check the measurements of the field, which is 150 meters and a bit.

"If so, since the area is five meters, it would be logically over 100. The truth is that I am happy with all this, more than anything personally, but also for the institution, for Chilean football.
"Going down in history with an event like this makes me happy."
With the reported distance being 101 meters, the Guinness World Record is currently officially held by Newport County goalkeeper Tom King with 96.01m.
One fan wrote on Twitter in response: "No matter how crazy your week has been, it's probably still not as bonkers as this goal."
A second posted: "I feel bad for the other goalkeeper but what a goal."
A third said: "I don't know whether to be more proud of one goalkeeper or more ashamed for the other. Nonetheless, this is a record-setter."
