Goalie ‘moans f***ing hell’ after striker wins pen with ‘dive that deserves ban’
Luton Town striker Carlton Morris was slammed by fans after he "dived" for a penalty which won them the game against Middlesbrough.
With the score 1-1 in the second half of the Championship clash on Monday (April 24) night, Morris tried to skip past opposition goalkeeper Zack Steffen. After getting to the ball first he then stumbled and fell to the floor.
Referee Graham Scott pointed to the spot, with Steffen appearing to mouth "f***ing hell mate" in response. The contact was minimal at best and after Morris dusted himself down and converted the penalty to give Luton the lead, there was widespread calls for him to receive a ban for simulation.

One viewer tweeted: "Retrospective ban for Carlton Morris please @EFL." A second wrote: "To stamp out cheating like that shameful dive from Carlton Morris, there simply has to be a retrospective ban in place."
"Carlton Morris should get a two game ban for that. Disgraceful," commented a third, while a fourth argued: "Ban him for all the play-offs."
A fifth said: "It has to be a retrospective ban for diving surely?" And a sixth added: "Carlton Morris needs to have a ban for that. Shocking dive, how the referee fell for that I’ll never know."

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Morris said: "I see the keeper charging out, I take the touch past him, whether I felt contact or not I'm not sure. [I] thought I did at the time, then I started going down and I just couldn’t pick myself back up."
Fortunately for Boro, their play-off spot is already secured. The penalty did however mean they no longer have a shot at automatic promotion, and will likely see them finish fourth with Luton pulling four points ahead of them with two games of the regular season to go.
