‘Goal of the season already complete’ after solo screamer in Carabao Cup
Josh Ginnelly's combination of skill and power might well have wrapped up the goal of the season competition in the second week of August.
The 26-year-old forward, who spent the last two seasons in Scotland with Hearts, came off the bench on the hour mark during Swansea's Carabao Cup win over Northampton and made an unforgettable impact.
The hosts were cruising in the second round following Joel Piroe's double, but Ginnelly didn't take his foot off the gas when receiving the ball just inside the opposition half in stoppage time.
He used strength and close control to burst towards the Northampton goal before sending a rocket from 35 yards that almost burst the net when it bent into the top right corner past despairing Newcastle loanee Max Thompson.

Another social media user added: "STOP THAT RIGHT NOW JOSH GINNELLY." A fourth said: "Was sat right behind this. Foot like a traction engine."
A fifth review said: "Got to be one of the best goals ever down the Liberty! What a way to open your account!"

Ginnelly, who began his career at Shrewsbury Town after opening time in the Aston Villa youth academy, had scored plenty of screamers in the past.
The former Walsall and Preston man left Hearts fans gutted by his Carabao Cup heroics after 22 goals in 89 fixtures before leaving on a free transfer.
Head coach Michael Duff might now have had his head turned by Ginnelly's skill and power after he signed a three-year deal last month.

He said when his deal was announced: "Every player wants to score and assist, and I am no different, but I think seeing the ball go in the back of the net for your team to win a game is what everybody wants.
"When you are at this level it is a team game, it is all about trying to get to that next level, and we know what that next level is.
"For me, it is team first. If I can get my goals and whatever then great, but it is about the team first."
