Goal actor Kuno Becker’s message to Santiago Munoz after transfer comes true
Kuno Becker, who played Santiago Munez in popular film Goal!, has sent a message to Newcastle's newest signing.
Munoz signed for the Magpies on Transfer Deadline Day in a story similar to the plot of the 2005 movie.
Munoz is a highly-rated 18-year-old, who will join Newcastle's academy set-up on an initial 18-month loan deal with an option to buy.
And Becker has sent a message to the youngster, saying: "I just found out there's a story, now a real-life story, about this great football player who just signed with the Newcastle United team. A team, a town, that is very, very close to my heart.
"Santi Munoz has the same name, almost exactly the same name as the fictional story in the movie Goal! where I played Santi Munez.
"An amazing story like I'm sure this real-life story will be, with a lot of goals. No pressure, Santi!
"I'm really pleased that Newcastle United and the movie Goal! are a magical combination and now even more because of this crazy reason.
"This team has inspired dreams, the move has inspired dreams and today, I want to say congratulations to the real-life Santi.
"It will also inspire a lot of people to dream. Go Newcastle United!"
Becker had previously explained his love for Newcastle, saying: I love Newcastle more than anybody, maybe because I 'played' there in the movie and I got to know the guys, as well as the previous owners.
