Manchester United have handed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a brand new two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2024. The former Red Devils striker joined the club in 2018, and although he has failed to win any silverware thus far, the board are believed to be happy with the direction the club is heading.
It is shaping up to be quite the summer for Solskjaer who has just completed the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
With Raphael Varane also in advanced negotiations to join the club, it could get better still as the boss could have a new and improved squad to challenge for silverware next season.
Since joining in 2018, Solskjaer led United to a third place finish in his first full season in charge.
Despite improving to second last campaign, the Reds were still 12 points behind rivals Manchester City.

Awareness had been building over the fact that Solskjaer has not won a single trophy since taking over as United boss, compounded by their Europa League final loss to Villarreal in May.
The 48-year-old came so close to opening his account as United manager, although they ultimately fell short thanks to a dramatic penalty shootout.
Solskjaer has spent over £360million on transfers over the past three seasons, as the club attempt to rediscover their glory years under Sir Alex Ferguson.
With Paul Pogba rumoured to be leaving this summer, it could free up yet more funds for the Norwegian to venture further into the transfer market to build on a squad made in his own image.
