Ilkay Gundogan may have been dropped for Germany's crunch Euro 2020 last 16 clash against England at Wembley on Tuesday – but he will still have the full support of Sara Arfaoui.

The Manchester City midfielder, who had a season to remember as they won another Premier League title, has been spotted with his model girlfriend ahead of the tournament on holiday.

She was also in the stands to watch his Champions League final defeat at the hands of Chelsea, and has gained an army of followers online and even posed topless in luxurious locations.

The 26-year-old, who is a TV presenter in Italy by trade, has not shared regular updates on their relationship on Instagram, focusing on her modelling and work life.

Despite starting against Hungary in their final group fixture, Gundogan was a doubt against England due to an injury he suffered during that encounter.

He said: “Ilkay suffered a cranial bruise.

"He felt a little bit better today, yesterday he still felt a little dizzy especially in training so we said we had to stop his load. Today he did a good job so we will decide tomorrow.”

While Germany played a strong side, there were questions over Gareth Southgate's England plans as he picked a new formation.

While Bukayo Saka and Kieran Trippier were handed starts, Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed out on the squad entirely with Mason Mount and Jack Grealish on the bench.

With Germany choosing to stick with their wing-back formation, Southgate matched it with a 3-4-3, with Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire and John Stones in front of Jordan Pickford.

Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice were picked in midfield alongside Tripper and Luke Shaw, with Saka playing wide with Harry Kane next to Raheem Sterling.

Chris Waddle said of the selections on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I think you've matched Germany up and if you respect the team that much, match them up.

"They've gone for the same formation and they believe if it's a one on one battle all over the park, Gareth believe his players will beat the Germans. This squad has developed a lot under Gareth.

"If it's not working, there are enough players on the bench who can change the game as well. It's a bit cautious at first, but he's obviously playing it safe."
