Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher in another Twitter spat over Man Utds problems
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have clashed again on Twitter over Manchester United’s poor run of form.
United were catastrophic defensively and looked disorganised as they were pulled apart by Leicester in their 4-2 loss on Saturday.
The display followed a dismal last few weeks for the Red Devils which included losses to Aston Villa and West Ham and a draw against Everton, sparking debate among former players and pundits over as to the reason behind their struggles.
And while former United captain Neville claimed it was down to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fielding too many attackers, fellow Sky pundit Carragher was having none of it, triggering another playful Twitter spat among the two.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, Neville said: “Greenwood, Sancho, Ronaldo, Pogba and Fernandes in. Five of them. I wouldn’t want to be a defender in that team.
“I love them as players, those five, but having them all in the same team, and ultimately not enough workhorses.”
He went on to add: “Manchester United at this moment in time are imbalanced. And the performances now are getting what they deserve in terms of the results.”
But Liverpool legend Carragher refused to accept his colleague’s reasoning for the loss, claiming Neville’s previous comments contradicted his excuse.

Carragher said: “You literally picked a team with five attackers in two weeks ago, all over the place the lot of you,” along with several laughing emojis.
Neville retorted: “That was before Villarreal and Everton at home! Not in this run of games. Nuance is lost on Twitter or with you.”
The former full-back also sent his colleague a hugging emoji but that did not bring the peace, with Carragher scoffing with “nuance” and several more laughing faces in reply.
United now sit sixth in the table despite a promising start to the campaign initially and face a tough run of fixtures over the next few weeks.
They face five of the traditional ‘top six’ clubs in their next six league matches which could see Solskjaer sacked if they continue their lacklustre performances.
