Gary Neville accuses Man Utd stars of ‘trying to sack Erik ten Hag’ with actions
Crisis? Not for us – Erik ten Hag can see Man Utd progress after Chelsea win
Gary Neville has ripped into the Manchester United dressing room for trying to get another manager sacked following reports of a revolt against Erik ten Hag. The Old Trafford icon has labelled the potential leaks from disgruntled stars in an attempt to overthrow Ten Hag “unforgivable.”

Last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United at St James’ Park was United’s 10th of the season, the quickest they had reached that milestone since relegation.
Reports stating Ten Hag faced a battle to keep his squad on his side followed, with one claiming he had lost 50 per cent of the dressing room.
United strongly responded – first by banning four high-profile organisations from Tuesday’s press conference for a failure to offer the right to reply before publishing their stories.
Then came the Red Devils’ most complete performance of the season against Chelsea as Scott McTominay’s brace sealed a 2-1 win on Wednesday.
United flaunted a level of resilience and energy that suggested they were playing for their manager.
But Neville can’t skim over the possibility of some of Ten Hag’s squad using the media to look out for themselves, having aimed most of his frustrations at the club’s ownership this term.

Speaking on The Overlap’s ‘Stick to Football’ show, Neville, who won 21 trophies in 19 years under Sir Alex Ferguson, blasted what he views as a “betrayal” and sent United’s current players three demands.
“The biggest betrayal you can have in a football dressing room is when players or players’ representatives are going to the media to undermine the manager and other players in your dressing room,” Neville said.
“Honestly, that is unforgivable. For me, I concentrated when I heard these stories on ‘here we go again, they’re going to try and get another manager sacked’, ‘another group of players thrown out’, and you know it’s happening and that it’s been fed.
“I thought, ‘Stop winging, shut your mouths, work as hard as you can, and the day after, come back and do it again’ – that’s it.

“I have some sympathy with them at the moment and how it is at the club, the continuing poor recruitment, negativity, lack of sporting department.
“I’ve given them a pretty easy ride – but I have no sympathy at all for them if they are leaking stories or if they are being late.”
Ten Hag has insisted suggestions he is losing a grip on his dressing room are inaccurate, pointing towards the Chelsea triumph as proof.
But he will feel plenty of squad moulding is left to complete during his project at Old Trafford, and United could host another clearout in 2024.
