Gary Lineker urges Harry Kane to leave Tottenham as ‘the time is right for him’
Gary Lineker has urged Harry Kane to join Bayern Munich and win the long-awaited first trophy of his career.
Kane, 30, is yet to lift a club or international trophy despite his career already writing himself in the history books as England's and Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time record goalscorer.
And he’s set to face a now or never decision regarding a move to the German champions, who have made a fresh £86million plus add ons bid.
Lineker previously held England’s all-time goalscoring record but now sits third behind Kane and Wayne Rooney and the former Spurs striker has told Kane “the time is right” to leave north London.

The 80-time England international previously made the decision to head to Europe in search of trophies after his time at Leicester City and Everton brought only a Second Division title and the Community Shield, hardly major honours.
But in 1986, Lineker joined Barcelona and went on to score 58 goals in 149 games, he also got his hands on the first major silverware of his career, winning the Copa Del Rey in 1988 and the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1989.

And Lineker urged Kane to follow suit, telling The Sun: “The time is right for him, and the right club has come in for him. Munich is a lovely city and Bayern are one of the great clubs in world football.”
The lure of Bayern will see Kane offered the best chance to win his first trophy with the Bavarians winning 11 straight Bundesliga titles as well as five DFB-Pokals and the Champions League during that time.
Lineker added: “The game is about winning team honours rather than individual records and that is what Harry needs. I don’t see Spurs finishing even close to the top four next season.
“And if Harry doesn't win trophies with Bayern then he really must be a jinx.”
Bayern are by far the most dominant side in Germany and will offer Kane the best chance of his career to finally get his hands on a trophy if the Germans can get the deal done.
