Gary Lineker picks between sex and scoring goals – and what "lasts longer"
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker reckons scoring a goal is better than sex – because the thrill lasts longer.
The former Tottenham star, who is England's joint-third highest goalscorer with 48 strikes to his name, also revealed how a goal he watched as a fan gave him the ultimate pleasure.
The 61-year-old, who also starred for Leicester, Everton and Barcelona before hanging up his boots in 1992, said: "The only thing you can never replace is the scoring of a big goal.
"Scoring a goal…people use that silly thing, ‘Oh is it better than sex?’ You can’t have it any time you want but you can kind of know you’re going to have sex at some point.
"Whereas you don’t know if you’re ever going to score again."
Lineker, who has hosted Match of the Day since the 1990s, said watching his boyhood club Leicester triumph at Wembley in the FA Cup final gave him enormous pleasure that was better than sex.
He told The Famous Sloping Pitch podcast: "Leicester scoring a winner in the FA Cup Final was way better than sex.
"It kind of lasts longer. The euphoria lasts longer."

The silver fox revealed last month that he has given up on dating as he can't be 'arsed' to get to know potential love interests beyond a bit of flirting – and he's lost interest in sex too.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I’ve got good friends, I’ve got my kids, I like cooking, and I just don’t want any more sleeping with someone again. When you get a bit older, that urge fades, your testosterone levels drop. It’s just not that important.

"I like the fun of flirting, going on dates, kissing and cooking for someone, but that’s about as far as I want to take it. I’m not sure I’m asexual as such — no matter how old you are, a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman — but I just genuinely can’t be arsed now."
Lineker has been married twice before – with his marriage to Michelle Cockayne lasting from 1986 until 2006, and his union to Danielle Bux lasting from 2009 to 2016.
