Galtier bemoans reporters after they ask about Mbappe transfer rumours
‘It is obvious the media are talking about something else’: PSG boss Christophe Galtier bemoans reporters after they ask about Kylian Mbappe transfer rumours rather than the club’s Ligue 1 clash with Marseille
- Christophe Galtier criticised the French media for asking him about rumours
- It comes after Kylian Mbappe was linked with a January move away from PSG
- Galtier praised his star striker for his midweek performance against Benfica
- The manager felt the focus should have been on PSG’s match against Marseille
Christophe Galtier hit out at the media on Friday as he was asked questions about Kylian Mbappe’s future with PSG rather than the club’s upcoming clash with Marseille.
It comes after rumours emerged that the striker is gunning for a move away from Paris in January despite signing a lucrative contract just four months ago.
The PSG boss has previously rubbished this, but clearly felt it was necessary to address what has become a constant distraction.

He began by touching on Mbappe’s recent performance in a 1-1 draw with Benfica. He said: ‘I’m nor here to talk about rumours. There was a rumour that came out the afternoon of a game. Kylian has an answer, the most beautiful answer.
‘In a match that was not of a very high level, I think he was elected man of the match, he was performing well, generous for the team and very supportive.’
The manager went on: ‘Instead of talking about the performance, it is obvious that you [the media] are talking about something else.

‘You have that right, but at a certain point when you ask me questions I answer you honestly.
‘I have players who since the Champions League match have immersed themselves very quickly in the preparation of the match against Marseille, which is the match that everyone is waiting for in the French league.’
It does seem to be a big match in the early title race, with third place Marseille currently sat three points behind league leaders PSG.
