Galatasaray's attempt to sign Fred stalls due to 'gap in valuation'

Galatasaray’s initial effort to sign Man United star Fred stalls with a ‘gap in valuation’ between the two clubs… while Fulham are also interested in the Brazilian midfielder

  • Galatasaray are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Fred
  • But the two clubs are said to have a gap in their valuations of the midfielder
  • Fulham are also in the race to sign the 30-year-old Brazil international

Galatasaray are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Fred, but the two clubs have not agreed on a valuation.

The Brazilian midfielder was brought to United by Jose Mourinho in a £52m deal back in 2018.

Though Mourinho would be sacked just months later, the former Shakhtar Donetsk star has remained a consistent feature of the United midfield.

However, as Erik ten Hag looks to continue overhauling his squad heading into his second season at the club, the Brazil international is expected to depart this summer.

Galatasaray have emerged as frontrunners to sign Fred, but according to a report from Sky Sports, initial discussions between the two clubs have indicated a gap in each team’s valuation of the player.

The Super Lig club announced the signing of former United forward Wilfried Zaha earlier this month

Marco Silva is bringing Fred to Fulham, but is also unwilling to meet United’s asking price

The report comes after the reigning Super Lig champions, who signed Wilfried Zaha earlier this week, made an initial offer for Fred that was rejected.

Fulham are also said to be interested in signing the 30-year-old who is entering the final year of his deal at Old Trafford.

Though like the Turkish side, Marco Silva is not willing to meet the price quoted for Fred by United.

In his five seasons since joining the club, Fred has made 213 appearances and netted 14 times in all competitions for United.

The midfielder, who has also been subject to interest from Saudi Arabia, collected his first silverware with the club in February as Ten Hag’s side defeated Newcastle to lift the EFL Cup.
