Galatasaray will demand a fee in excess of €20m for Arsenal transfer target Sacha Boey this summer.

The France Under-20 international has enjoyed an impressive season for the Turkish giants and is attracting significant interest from a number of European clubs.

Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his full-back department this summer having been reduced to playing Thomas Partey as a makeshift right-back during the closing stages of last season.

January recruit Jakub Kiwior, meanwhile, was also asked to play in an unfamiliar position during the final two games of the campaign following Oleksandr Zinchenko’s most recent injury.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is unlikely to return from a serious knee injury until after the start of next season, while Kieran Tierney looks increasingly likely to depart having fallen out of favour.

Once considered a future club captain, Tierney has paid the price for Arteta’s decision to utilise Zinchenko as an inverted full-back.

Newcastle are keen on signing the Scotland international but will face stiff competition from Aston Villa who hope the pulling power of Unai Emery, who signed Tierney for Arsenal, will prove decisive.

Nuno Tavares, meanwhile, is set to return from an unsuccessful loan spell with Marseille and is likely to be sold for a small profit on the £7.5million Arsenal paid when they bought him from Benfica nearly two years ago.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are yet to enter into formal discussions with Galatasaray and there has been no meeting with Boey’s new agents, but he is a player admired by Arsenal.
