Fuming South Korea boss red-carded – so wont manage against his native Portugal
South Korea head coach Paulo Bento was shown a red card for raging at Anthony Taylor after the Premier League referee blew for full-time despite his side earning a corner.
It means that the Portuguese manager will not be in the dugout for South Korea’s third and final match against his home nation next Friday.
At the end of South Korea’s 3-2 loss against Ghana in a Group H match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Monday, a furious Bento saw red in more ways than one as he was given his marching orders.

And of course, fans have responded online to the incident.
One rejoiced: “I’m very much here for Paulo Bento giving Anthony Taylor both barrels. We’ve all felt like doing it at some point over the years.”

Another said: “I can understand the frustration but he was clearly abusing the ref!”
A third stated: “South Korea coach Paulo Bento received a red card after full time, meaning he won't be in the dugout to face his native Portugal on Friday. Convenient.”
A last one wrote: “Paulo Bento doing what everyone in this country has wanted to do for a good five years and absolutely bellow at Anthony Taylor.”
Indeed, Ghana picked up all three points in what was an exhilarating match at Education City Stadium in Qatar.
The African side earned a 2-0 lead via Mohammed Salisu and Ajax's Mohammed Kudus. But the South Koreans bounced back in the second-half, thanks to a decent brace from Cho Gue-sung.
However, the final twist to the tale went to Ghana, with Kudus bagging his brace with a fine finish. South Korea came back into the fold, huffing and puffing, trying to get that crucial equaliser – but it was not to be.
The result puts Bento’s men bottom of Group H, with a point to their name, while Ghana land in second place, just behind Portugal.
