Fuming Nuno Espirito Santo "won’t allow" any repeat of Wolves’ horror show
Nuno Espirito Santo insists he "won't allow" any repeat of Wolves ' horror show.
Wanderers crashed 4-0 to Burnley on Sunday in the biggest home loss of Nuno's reign since May 2017.
They trailed 3-0 at the break to the Clarets after Chris Wood ran amok with a hat-trick.
Boss Nuno, whose side visit local rivals West Brom next, fumed: “We had a very bad performance.
“It was clearly the path that we should not take and I will not allow it.
“I am disappointed with many parts.
“There were too many things – bad defending, not the right decisions in the right moments when we were under pressure.
“We didn't have movement, everybody was without mobility.
“We didn't have possession.
“As long as the game goes on the number of mistakes increase and we are not able to settle down and play the game like we should.
“When you perform so bad you are disappointed and frustrated.
“There were many mistakes that you shouldn't do.”
The thrashing ended a run of back to back wins for Nuno, who has been linked with the Spurs vacancy.
He added: “It is a moment to get together again and approach it as a group for the next one.
“We will stick together like we always do.”
Burnley's players out-ran their Wolves counterparts by 6km.
Nuno added: “I didn't know that stat, that disappoints me a lot.
“One of our characteristics is we usually over-run our opponents.
“The game is about that hard work and Burnley ran more.”
