Chelsea beat Juventus by the highest scoreline ever against the Old Lady in the tournament (4-0) and eventually progressed in second place.
Manchester United suffered a defeat and a draw against Swiss outfit Young Boys and had to rely on the superb Cristiano Ronaldo, the competition’s all-time goalscorer, to save their skin in the group stages, particularly against Atalanta.
Despite this, they finished first and so will be seeded against a runner-up for their next game.
