Fulham join Nottingham Forest in race for Monaco’s Ismail Jakobs as Marco Silva seeks to address urgent full-back problem ahead of their opening day clash with Everton
- Fulham have shown interest in Monaco’s 23-year-old left-back Ismail Jakobs
- Nottingham Forest have also been keen on the Senegal defender this summer
- Marco Silva has admitted that Fulham have a shortage of full-back options
Fulham have become the latest club to show interest in Monaco left-back Ismail Jakobs.
Jakobs has already been on the radar of Nottingham Forest this summer and is now wanted by a second Premier League side.
Manager Marco Silva spoke openly about Fulham’s shortage of full-backs during their pre-season tour of America.
They have Kenny Tete and Kevin Mbabu, who made just a handful of appearances last season before joining Servette for the second half of the campaign, for the right back slot.
Antonee Robinson is their only available left-back, the position where Jakobs predominantly plays, though he is also capable of performing further up the left flank.

Forest were previously keen on Jakobs, 23, when he was at Cologne, who he left in 2021 to join Monaco.
Jakobs made 39 appearances in his first year at Monaco and 41 last season but the majority have been as a substitute and he could be among the players to leave the Principality club this summer.
Monaco sold central defender Axel Disasi to Chelsea for £38m last week and have had interest from West Ham and Brighton for central midfielder Youssouf Fofana.
