Four things noticed from Tuchel’s first Chelsea training session

"I cannot wait to meet my new team and compete in the most exciting league in football," Thomas Tuchel told the club's official website as he was unveiled as Chelsea boss.

Well he didn't have to wait long. The German, who replaced club legend Frank Lampard, got stuck in to Chelsea training as soon as he arrived. The Blues session was put back from the morning to 6pm on Tuesday to account for Tuchel's arrival.

Presumably he wanted to get up and running with his new players as soon as possible. And with Chelsea facing Wolves on Wednesday night it makes total sense.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain boss led the session and Mirror Football noticed four things…

Reunited

Tuchel managed Christian Pulisic at Borussia Dortmund and the American previously said how grateful he was to have worked under the German.

Here, the pair are reunited.

It could be a different story for Thiago Silva, however, with the Brazilian recently stating that he saw Tuchel's sacking at PSG coming.

Out from the cold? (sort of)

It was reported that Lampard tore into Marcos Alonso at half-time of the 3-3 West Brom draw in September.

The Spaniard had a disastrous first 45, didn't return for the second half and hasn't been in a Chelsea squad since.

Could a new manager give him the break he needs? Tuchel gets up close and personal in training.

Give youth a chance

Shortly before his announcement it was claimed that Tuchel had been ordered to keep giving Chelsea's young players a chance.

It seems Tuchel is wasting no time getting to learn exactly what Reece James is capable of and even appears to be passing on some advice.

Getting stuck in

Some managers prefer to take a more laid back approach to training but early signs from the pictures taken at Cobham show Tuchel getting stuck in.

With Wolves only a day away he clearly wants to make his mark early on.
