Tottenham may have to prepare for the scenario that Harry Kane could depart the club this summer with Manchester City plotting a £100million transfer. The England striker has suggested he will leave his boyhood club after growing frustrated with the club’s lack of recent success.
The 27-year-old was in electric form for Spurs last season, scoring 23 goals and laying on 11 assists for his team-mates to claim the Premier League Golden Boot.
Speculation over Kane’s future has no doubt proven an unwanted distraction for the England striker, who is currently at Euro 2020 with Gareth Southgate’s side.
Reports suggested Man City had opened talks with Spurs over what would be a record fee for a British player.
But the north London outfit are reluctant to part with their talisman, with Kane halfway through the six-year contract he signed in 2018.

Still, if Kane is eager to leave this summer the club could be left with little option other than cashing in on the striker.
It is claimed City have offered five players as potential makeweights for Spurs to form a player-plus-cash deal, with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus reportedly included.
But if Spurs are to demand their asking price is paid in cash only, it could open the door to signing one of the best strikers at Euro 2020 this summer.

Alexander Isak
Sweden probably felt their chances of progression beyond the group stages had been dented when Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But the performances of Isak suggest they have found a natural successor.
The Real Sociedad frontman is yet to score at the international tournament but it is not for the lack of trying, with the 21-year-old showing the kind of movement on and off the ball that saw him find the net 17 times in LaLiga last season.
The former Borussia Dortmund starlet produced a stunning solo run in their 1-0 win over Slovakia which delighted onlookers and showed how he could add another dimension to the Spurs attack if they were to sign him.
The Basque outfit inserted a €70m (£59.8m) release clause into his contract after clinching his signing 18 months ago and are likely to demand the full amount for the target man.
Andre Silva
It takes some achievement to match Erling Haaland pound-for-pound in the Bundesliga scoring charts. But it’s another level to actually beat the Norwegian.
The only players to do so this season? Robert Lewandowski on 41 goals and Andre Silva with 28.
Granted, the Portuguese striker played three more games than Haaland but the 25-year-old has rediscovered the deadly finishing that earned him a move to AC Milan earlier in his career.
The nomadic forward could be available for £35m this summer after Eintracht Frankfurt missed out on Champions League qualification, with Arsenal and Manchester City also reportedly tracking him.
Silva has only made two brief appearances from the bench for Portugal at Euro 2020, such as the abundance of attacking talent in Fernando Santos’ squad.
But it appears he has done enough at club level to earn a high-profile switch this summer and armed with the funds from Kane’s sale, Spurs could usurp their north London rivals to secure his signature.
Ciro Immobile
There are very few strikers in the transfer market who can prove they could match Harry Kane’s consistency in front of goal, but Immobile can confidently step forward into the conversation.
The Italy international may have seen his best days already at the age of 31, but what cannot be disputed is his clinical finishing in front of goal.
Since joining Lazio in 2016, Immobile has struck 123 goals in Serie A — the most of any player in that period, including an incredible haul of 36 in the 2019-20 campaign.
Comparatively, Kane has hit 142 in the Premier League in that same time period, showing how close the two players are in terms of their prolific goalscoring records.
Lazio may be powerless to resist offers for the striker if interested parties come calling after being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and Immobile, having played in Italy, Spain and Germany, might fancy a crack at the Premier League.
Patrik Schick
International tournaments can be a perfect stage for players to showcase their talents and Schick has taken full advantage.
The Czech Republic striker has caught pundits by surprise after rising to the top of the goalscoring charts with Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo on three goals.
Schick showed his ability with an unbelievable strike from the halfway line against Scotland, as well as finishing off a fine solo run to open the scoring against Croatia.
The 25-year-old is currently contracted to Bayer Leverkusen after arriving in a £22m deal in the summer of 2020 and scored nine goals in the Bundesliga last season.
But his improved form at the international tournament may drum up interest from clubs this summer and after previously admitting he would be “very attracted” to a move to England, he would represent a viable option if Kane leaves.
