Four Chelsea players tipped to help Erling Haaland ‘score many goals’ for Blues

Former Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit thinks Erling Haaland would be a great fit for Chelsea and thinks there are a few players in the squad who would work with the Norwegian forward well.

Haaland has been linked with several clubs this summer, and Chelsea are one of them as they look to solve their issues up top and get more goals from their attacking players.

Timo Werner was signed last summer from RB Leipzig, but he has often been inconsistent in front of goal, missing key chances in several games throughout the season.

Haaland, meanwhile, has had an impeccable first full season at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 41 goals from as many appearances across all competitions.

Petit is a fan: “I’ll make it simple: Giroud is on his way out of Chelsea, Tammy Abraham is probably leaving on loan, and Timo Werner still struggling to score goals consistently and Kai Havertz is not a striker.”

“Erling Haaland is the answer, he’s strong, powerful and young with a bright future in front of him.”

“Haaland’s value is already very high, and connections with Thomas Tuchel increase his chance of joining Chelsea.”

Petit also feels Chelsea’s attacking players could greatly benefit from having a consistent forward like Haaland around, pointing out four names.

“Offensively, he could become the finisher that Chelsea really need.

“I can imagine his relationship with Mount, Havertz, Pulisic and Ziyech making him score lots of goals at Stamford Bridge.”

Signing Haaland may prove to be difficult this summer as Borussia Dortmund are not keen on losing two stars in one window, having already struck a deal with Manchester United for the transfer of Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.

Haaland could cost upto £138m this summer, but if the Blues wait another year, they could get him for around £68m due to a clause in his contract.

That will, however, invite a bidding war between themselves and a host of other clubs who will undoubtedly be interested in brining the 20-year-old over.
