After the latest midweek crammed with European action, another Premier League weekend awaits on a snowy Friday in the UK. But there is plenty of football news and views to tuck into away from the pitch at Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and other clubs.
United responded to their thrashing at Liverpool by producing a dominant display of their own on Thursday, beating Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa League. It puts one foot into another cup quarter-final as Erik ten Hag turns his attention toward Southampton on Sunday.
Meanwhile, there are growing rumblings that Antonio Conte may not last until his summer contract expiry, with Tottenham set for another trophyless season. And while two names have distanced themselves from the job, Spurs are reportedly eyeing a surprise replacement.
Paul Pogba is also having continued issues in his return to Juventus, only two games after returning from an injury that has kept him out of the season. The French midfielder was dropped for ‘disciplinary’ reasons for Thursday’s clash with Freiburg.

Pogba ‘discipline’ problems
Juventus confirmed they dropped Paul Pogba for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Freiburg due to disciplinary issues.
Pogba had only played twice since making his second debut in Turin after a season-long injury.
But he was excluded from the Juve squad on Thursday, reportedly because he arrived late to a team retreat on Wednesday night.
Tottenham admire Rodgers
Tottenham reportedly admire Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers amid ongoing uncertainty over Antonio Conte’s future.
According to talkSPORT, Spurs believe Rodgers’ brand of football would be received well at the club.
And one of the club’s reported main targets, Thomas Frank, has distanced himself from a Brentford departure.
He said: “I think he [Conte] has achieved some fantastic results, so I hope he will do well, and I hope Spurs do well.
“Secondly, I am very, very happy here at Brentford.”
PSG plot £50m Maguire swoop
PSG are reportedly plotting a shock £50million move to sign Manchester United captain Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, PSG were interested in completing a deal in January but ran out of time and will return to the frame this summer.
Covering Maguire’s £200,000-a-week contract isn’t expected to be a problem in ending his United career.
And having fallen down Erik ten Hag’s pecking order, he will likely be ready for a high-profile new challenge elsewhere.
