Chelsea could lose another coach this week after Fleetwood Town shortlisted highly-rated Anthony Barry him to succeed Joey Barton as manager.
Barry was thrown into the spotlight on Monday afternoon by taking charge of training in the hours after Frank Lampard’s sacking.
The 34-year-old – who joined Lampard’s staff last August – is expected to play a significant role in Wednesday night’s Premier League clash with Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

But Sportsmail understands League One Fleetwood are keen on talking to their former player Barry about taking over as they look to wrap up a quick appointment. Barton was relieved of his duties earlier this month.
Chelsea would then be facing a battle to keep hold of a coach, brought in as a defensive specialist, who is believed to enjoy a strong rapport with the current squad.
‘Anthony’s been a real positive for the group dynamic, and in all senses,’ Lampard said a fortnight ago.

‘He’s certainly helped on set-pieces, but he’s very diligent, he pays so much attention to ourselves and the opposition in every part of the game, from what we do in the office, to studying opposition and working on the training field.
‘It’s very important you have balance within staff, and what Anthony has given us is another person and another level of expertise that I can call upon, and a work ethic that is outstanding.’
Barry had been coaching at Wigan Athletic before a move to Chelsea.
The midfielder spent his playing career in the lower leagues with the likes of Yeovil Town, Accrington Stanley and Forest Green Rovers.
