Roberto Firmino is a doubt for Liverpool’s crunch Champions League second leg clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will meet the Germans once again inside Budapest’s Puskas Arena as they bid to build upon a 2-0 aggregate lead and book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

But the Reds may have to attempt to do so without Firmino, who sat out training on Monday with a knee issue.

Liverpool may have to face RB Leipzig on Wednesday without Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino

The Brazilian missed the weekend’s game against Fulham, in which Liverpool recorded an historic sixth consecutive home defeat at Anfield.

It is reported that a late call will be made on the fitness of Firmino, with the returning Diogo Jota poised to take his place in the starting line-up.

Firmino picked up a knock against Chelsea and is now facing a race for full fitness

Klopp and his side have however been boosted with the return of January signing Ozan Kabak, who has recovered from a recent knock sustained against Chelsea.

The Turkish star was back in the senior ranks after missing out against Fulham, and was joined by fellow newcomer Ben Davies who has had fitness concerns of his own.
