Ferrell tells Ramsdale he’ll be ‘delivering bag of s***’ after ‘w***erman’ jibe

Will Ferrell has told an England star he'll be "delivering a bag of s***" after his brutal "w***erman" jibe.

The Elf actor traded insults with Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale during an appearance on Capital FM earlier this week, ahead of Friday night's World Cup clash between the Three Lions and the USA. Although England have won eight of their 13 meetings with the USA, they have failed to beat them in their two World Cup contests, drawing their last clash in 2010.

In anticipation for their latest encounter, Ramsdale recorded a message for Ferrell, which was played during his radio appearance.

In the clip, Ramsdale joked: "You're a great actor and a hero of mine. I love watching your films, but when we play your nation on Friday, you'll be the worst actor in the world.

"Elf will be on the shelf and it will be a little less Anchorman and more W***erman. Take care pal."

Ramsdale's jibe caused laughter in the studio before Ferrell was given a chance to reply, responding: "Aaron you didn't realise, I know where you live, and I'm delivering a bag of s*** to your doorstep.

"I'm going to light it on fire and you're going to have to stomp it out. All right, Aaron." Asked if he had any words for the rest of the England team, he added: "They're not going to sleep at night. Because they're insomniacs."

Giving his prediction for the match earlier in the show, Ferrell had scoffed: "I think it is going to be a slaughter. USA three, England nil."

With Jordan Pickford starting England's first match in Qatar, Ramsdale is yet to make his World Cup debut. However, he does have three senior international caps to his name, after making his debut in November last year.

Gareth Southgate's side go into Friday's match knowing a win will seal their place in the last 16, having comfortably won their tournament opener against Iran on Monday.

They will all but secure top spot in Group B as well with victory, after 10-men Wales were dramatically beaten 2-0 by Iran earlier in the day. The USA drew 1-1 with Wales, who England play last, in their first match and will take on Iran on Tuesday evening.
