Ferran Torres confirms he’s dating Barcelona legend’s daughter weeks after move

Former Manchester City striker Ferran Torres has confirmed he is dating Spain manager Luis Enrique’s showjumping daughter Sira Martinez.

The footballer’s recent signing for Barcelona at the start of the month followed speculation it could be partly linked to his love life off the pitch.

Over the weekend the 21-year-old made his romance with the pretty brunette official by celebrating her winning performance in a horse-riding competition with an Instagram post.

The attacking winger, mocked by fans after he flopped on his highly-anticipated debut against Real Madrid last Wednesday in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final, attended Sunday’s event at Barcelona’s Royal Polo Club.

Sira, Luis Enrique’s oldest daughter, reposted the photo her boyfriend uploaded onto his Instagram Story showing her astride her horse with snaps of the first and third medals she had won.

Spanish celeb website EnBlau reported last month Torres, then still at City, and Sira had been enjoying a secret long-distance relationship.

The news emerged around the time it was first reported the former City striker was wanted at the Camp Nou.

The new Barcelona £55million signing disappointed in his first 45 minutes with his new side before his replacement by fellow Spanish international Pedri last week.

He was subbed after earning himself a yellow card with some football fans claiming afterwards on social media they had not noticed he was on the pitch.

Pretty brunette Sira is said to have become a good friend with Pep Guardiola’s daughter Maria after meeting and starting to date Torres.

The new Barcelona signing is close to his current club's former manager Enrique and has referred to him as his sporting father.

Sira has referred to horse riding as her "refuge" following the death of her little sister Xana from cancer in August 2019 when she was aged just nine.

She told Vanity Fair in an interview in December 2020: "I suppose I’m a different person since that happened.

"Now I stop to think that we have to live and enjoy each moment.

"Riding horses is my refuge. When I am sad, I get on my horse and forget everything else."
