Fernandinho’s recent performances have led to the growing possibility of the veteran extending his contract at Manchester City.
The central midfielder was 36 on Tuesday as City reached their first Champions League final and is out of contract in the summer.
Pep Guardiola opted for Fernandinho over Rodri for the 2-0 semi-final second leg victory over Paris Saint-Germain and the manager has been impressed with his leadership since taking the captaincy.

‘I’m very focused on the final part of this season,’ Fernandinho told TNT Sports. ‘I and the club respect each other a lot, we will sit and talk after May 30 to decide what is the best way for both sides.’
