Fellaini has made more money in China than Jake Paul got from last fight purse

Marouane Fellaini is absolutely raking it in out in China and has earned more money in wages than YouTuber Jake Paul earned from his last fight purse.

The former Manchester United midfielder signed for Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng in 2019 and is the club's highest earning player.

It's understood that the Belgium is on a whopping £235,000 a week – a figure he could only dream of earning back in the Premier League.

After 33 months in China, Fellaini's bank account has bulged by £7.75m more than five times more than the official purse earned by Paul from his fight with former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley (£1.5m) – though Paul has earned considerably more through sponsorships.

Paul, whose brother Logan is also a YouTuber-turned-boxer, beat Woodley via a split decision back in August.

The 23-year-old is set to fight Tyson Fury's brother Tommy in December, with both men heading into the bout undefeated.

Paul's sparring parring Anthony Taylor, who lost to Fury in August, insists the social media star has put his YouTubing days behind him.

"Jake is not a YouTuber anymore. He is a pro boxer," Taylor insisted.

"People say Jake doesn't take it seriously. I'm with him every day. His growth in three years is equivalent to someone else's growth in six years."

Fellaini, who spent five seasons at Everton before moving to Old Trafford in 2013, is one of a number of Premier League stars who have been lured to the Chinese Super League in recent years.

The 33-year-old, who wasn't exactly known as a goal scorer during his time in England, has found the back of net 21 times in just 57 games so far for Shandong.

I suppose on that sort of money you'd expect him to chip in with a few goals, wouldn't you?
