Fed up Gary Neville mocks Man Utd and Rangnick over unavailability and time off

A fed up Gary Neville has mocked Manchester United and Ralf Rangnick on social media over the unavailability of players and those taking time off.

United host Championship side Middlesbrough at Old Trafford on Friday in the fourth round of this season's FA Cup, their first match in 13 days.

However, Rangnick has confirmed he is set to be without a number of his first team players, due to a combination of injuries and requests for time off.

This has left former defender Neville agitated and he took to Twitter following Rangnick's pre-match press conference on Thursday to mock his former club and their current manager.

Neville quote tweeted United's team news and wrote: “Sue wanted a day off, Alan took a holiday, John was ill, Barry handed his notice in, Clive said he might be there and Barbara will be on the minutes!”

This came in response to Rangnick confirming to the press that while Paul Pogba may start, Jesse Lingard is unavailable after asking for a couple days off.

Lingard was denied a Deadline Day move away from the club despite strong interest from both Newcastle United and West Ham United.

Edinson Cavani has also taken time off, although it is thought he would not have started anyway due to being on international duty in South America with Uruguay over the last two weeks.

Victor Lindelof is said to have been ill all week and will not be involved on Friday night, as will Eric Bailly due to an ankle injury.

While not confirmed by Rangnick, Luke Shaw has not played since the third round win against Aston Villa due to suspension and a hamstring injury and remains a doubt.
