Fans think Everton are about to make signing after training video gaffe

Everton may have accidently let slip that their next signing will be completed imminently.

The Toffees got their summer business underway on Thursday (July 13) with the arrival of free agent Ashley Young, 38, whose Aston Villa contract expired last month.

Sean Dyche is looking for more reinforcements before their Premier League season gets underway in just over four weeks' time when they host Fulham at Goodison Park.

He's most in need of additions in defence having lost centre-backs Yerry Mina and Conor Coady – and fans reckon that's set to be addressed in the coming days.

Turn the volume all the way up, however, and a different voice can be heard in the background. It's hard to depict exactly what they say, apart from the name they mention – Jonny Evans.

One supporter tweeted: "Listen closely… does anyone else hear 'we've got Jonny Evans coming in'?" Another replied: "Just been deleted on Insta as well, fully getting him then."

A third echoed: "Post's been deleted off Insta, pretty sure you’ve got that spot on lad." A fourth commented: "I’d take him… good work that."

"This is remarkable detective work," hailed a fifth, while the Specsavers official account joked: "Ok you don’t need to come in for a hearing test for at least six months."

Like Young, Evans, 35, is a free agent. He only made 13 league appearances last season as Leicester were relegated, with a calf injury keeping the former Manchester United defender out for most of the campaign.
